During the course of any week I cross paths with a lot of people. The cross section is remarkable really and I feel honoured to be around so many. When it comes to Real Estate I am still shocked to learn on daily basis that some feel that buying a property should be like buying a small item online. Many seem to think the property should show up on their laptop so they can click to buy it. It doesn`t work that way. It never has and never will. Technology can help you in the first layer of searching but you have to go and see the property. You have to invest the time, because it is your purchase. Unless you can do this without the help of a mortgage you will be paying for this decision for the next 20 years or so. I encourage you to visit open houses, sign with a real estate sales representative and tap into their (my) expertise. Most purchases happen within 21 days of signing a buyer rep agreement with a sales rep. It can be an intense three weeks of your life but when your decision will likley last 20 years or more its clear, you must give this process its due respect.

Spring is Here
We are just slightly past the first full day of spring, the Leafs are still alive in the NHL playoff push and the Spring market for home selling/buying is here. There is no better indicator than our weekly Tuesday morning meeting at our Queen Street REMAX/Hallmark office at 2237 Queen Street East. The meeting consists of the latest breaking news for Real Estate, all agents in attendance can pump their "wish" lists and "looking for" lists. Then we go through the list of houses set up for our office agents tour. There were 10 on the list this morning. That is not a huge number but it is a healthy number. The more revealing number was our FYI list. That has future listings on it. Properties not quite ready to be listed on MLS, usually 24-48 hours away from getting listed. That list had 20 properties on it. Do the math, 10 launched today and another 20 set to go with more being added as the day progressed. yes the Spring market has indeed sprung!
